Dr. Shannon Rivers graduated from Columbia High School in 1998. Dr. Rivers was educated at Albany College of Pharmacy, where she awarded a Doctor of Pharmacy License in 2004. Dr. Rivers has a special interest in Endocrinology and completed her residency with the Albany Medical Center Endocrinology Group. Dr. Rivers works with diabetic patients in educating then on proper care; she acts as the patient’s mentor, and trains the patients how to care for themselves.

Dr. Rivers is an Assistant Professor at the Albany College of Pharmacy. She is the Section 8 Representative for the State Board of Pharmacy, and the Chair of the New Practitioners Network Pharmacy Society of New York. In addition, Dr. Rivers has published articles in the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy. Dr. Rivers has a long history of giving back to the community. Currently she participates in the Pharmacy Legislation Day and various Health Fairs.

Dr. Rivers was a volunteer coach for East Greenbush Pop Warner during her high school career and college years. She was a member of the Albany Tulip Court in 2001. In addition, she volunteers with Toys for Tots, is a “Big Sister”, and has participated in the Mayor’s Campaign for Literacy. Dr. Rivers was a past member of the Catherine Schuyler Society of Children of the American Revolution. Dr. Rivers resides in Schenectady, and was nominated for the Columbia High School Hall of Fame by her grandmother, Bernice O’Neil.
