Judge Elliot has dedicated his adult life to public service. He graduated from Colgate University in 1969, and Albany Law School in 1972. Judge Elliot has served as Town Justice in the Townof NorthGreenbush since 1984, and has presided over more than 30,000 cases during his career.He is a long time member of the New York State Bar Association, Rensselaer Countyand Albany County Bar Associations, as well as the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association. Judge Elliot has served as Director of the Executive Committee of the New York StateMagistrates Association, and is currently serving as the President of the Association of Towns of the State of New York.Judge Elliot is admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of New York, the United States Northern District Court and the United States Supreme Court. In addition,heserves on the board of several statewide and local Domestic Violence Advisory Groups, and has severed as a member of the Third Judicial District Gender Fairness Committee. Judge Elliot resides in North Greenbush with wife Barbara, and is the father of two daughters. He has been active as a soccer coach, taught Sunday School at Blooming Grove Reformed Church, on theboard of Director of Concerns U and was a founding member of the Albany Knickerbocker Rugby Team. Judge Elliot was nominated to the hall of fame, byhis brother and fellow Hall of Famer, Gerry Elliot.
