  • EGCSD Board of Education Pepsi Scholarship - awarded to students planning to participate in some form of post-secondary education. Application for Pepsi Scholarship is available here and on Naviance. The 2024 application deadline is Friday, April 26, 2024 at 3pm.
  • Terrance L. Brewer Scholarship Award - presented to a graduating senior who has promoted tolerance, endorsed diversity and demonstrated friendship to a fellow student(s) in a recognized and responsible manner. Application for Brewer Scholarship is available here and on Naviance. The 2024 application deadline is Friday, April 26, 2024 at 3pm.
  • The Ruth Hurr Memorial Scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated academic excellence in social studies using effective writing and research. The recipient must also show civic responsibility and promote good citizenship in school and in the community.  Must be a Columbia High School senior (male or female) graduating and must be entering his or her first year.  Application for the Ruth Hurr Memorial Scholarship is available here and on Naviance.  The 2024 application deadline is Friday, April 26, 2024 at 3pm.  This award is administered by the CHS Social Studies Department for more info  see Mrs. Wendy McAlonie @CHS.
  • Bianco Family Scholarship -  for a senior male or female who has participated on the Varsity XC or Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field team. Student must be entering college in the fall.The award was $1,000 offered for this first time June 2015. There is a committee in place to review applications. Application downloads are available on the CHS Guidance Naviance web-site.Contact is Patti Farnan, CHS Assistant Principal.  The 2024 application deadline is Friday, April 26, 2024 at 3pm.
  • Alan G. Hall Outstanding Business Leader Award - presented to a senior student who best embodies the exemplary characteristics of Mr. Hall, including an outstanding work ethic, motivation to excel, personal integrity, compassion for others and a strong interest in business or science. The student will have focused his/her studies on business or science course work and will be pursuing post-secondary education. The $500 award will be presented to the recipient in the first year of enrollment in an accredited college.The award was first awarded in June 2015.There is a committee in place to review applications.   • The Farnan Family Scholarship Award -   presented to a senior who plans on entering the business or communications fields, who has shown a commitment to volunteerism, and who has displayed extraordinary teamwork and dedication in athletics & other extracurricular activities. The award is presented by Ryan Farnan '02 and his family, who are grateful for the support, lessons, and friendships they've received as part of the East Greenbush/Columbia community.  ELIGIBILITY - Must be a Columbia High School senior (male or female) graduating and must be entering his or her first year of college in the Fall. Applications are available on the CHS Guidance Naviance web-site.   • The Doug and Lynda Porter Scholarship Award - The Doug and Lynda Porter Scholarship Committee will award one scholarship in the amount of $500 to a Columbia High School graduating senior who has excelled in and has a genuine interest in math and music.  This award was made possible by the generous gift of Mr. and Mrs. Porter who were longtime teachers in the music and math departments in the EGCSD. The recipient chosen best exemplifies a well-rounded academic and musical individual. Must be a Columbia High School senior (male or female) graduating in June 2024. Must be an active member in good standing in the music department who has participated in a musical group (choral or instrumental) all four years at Columbia. Must have been enrolled in a math class all four years at Columbia. Must be entering his or her first year of college in the Fall of 2024. The award will be presented to the student who best demonstrates talent in the areas of math and music.  Specific criteria will include: Academic achievement especially in math, Performance in musical ensemble groups at Columbia and perhaps beyond,Active member of the school community. Nominated Awards

  • Wurstlin Family Science Award - To a sophomore who has maintained a strong academic record in the sciences during the first two years of high school.  This award is administered by the CHS Science Dept. for more details see Mr. Tom Ross @ CHS.

  • Christine F. Wurstlin, M.D. Memorial Science Award - To a junior or senior who has achieved outstanding accomplishments in the field of science and has demonstrated an exceptional scientific curiosity or potential. This award is administered by the CHS Science Dept. for more details see Mr. Tom Ross @ CHS
  • Nicholas Budnowski Memorial Scholarship Award - Presented to a senior who has maintained a strong academic record and was a member of a CHS athletic team. The recipient should demonstrate good sportsmanship and moral character and see Mr. Ryan Jones, East Greenbush Central School Dist.  Athletic Director.
  • Lori A. Farnan, M.D. Scholarship - Presented to a senior who plans on entering the field of medicine who has displayed exceptional academic ability and community service. This award is administered by the CHS Science Dept. for more details see Mr. Tom Ross @ CHS
  • Jean M. Tracy Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in English - This award was established in honor of Miss Jean Tracy who served as an English teacher at Columbia for forty two years, twenty two as chair of the English department. The award is presented to the senior who has consistently demonstrated excellence in English expression combined with a deep respect for the traditions of literature.  This award is administered by the CHS English Dept. for more details see Mrs. Meagan Assenbauer @ CHS.
