Mr. Wysocki was nominated by Columbia High School Principal John Sawchuk, for this honor. Mr. Wysocki graduated near the top of his class from Columbia in 1976 where he excelled as a student-athlete. He studied physical education at Springfield College, graduating with honors. After graduation, he taught at local schools before returning to Columbia. While at Columbia, he has been a Teacher, Coach, Administrator, Department Chair, and Dean. Mr. Wysocki has taught at every grade level, from kindergarten through senior year in high school. Mr. Wysocki has coached Soccer, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track, and Baseball during his career at Columbia. In all, Mr. Wysocki’s JV baseball teams have won 14 championships, and in 2007, Mr. Wysocki’s Varsity Boys Soccer team captured the Sectional Championship. In addition, Mr. Wysocki has coached volleyball at Siena College, and been selected as Siena’s Coach of the Year on three separate occasions, awarded five MAAC Championships in Division One Volleyball. Mr. Wysocki has volunteered for numerous community causes, being part of the Kiwanis Club Bob Smith Run since its inception, volunteering for many years at the Empire State Games. He was also instrumental in bringing the Special Olympics to both Siena College and Columbia High School. Hank Wysocki and his wife Jeannine have three children; Brett, Rachel and Garrett.
