Timothy Nickels, after graduating from Columbia HS in 1975, joined the US Army where he then was sent to South Korea to serve as a K-9 handler for the Military Police, thus starting his career serving our community and our nation. Upon his return to the US, Tim joined the Nassau Police Department, then, moved on to the New York City Housing Authority Police Department.  In New York, he was elected as President of the New York City Housing PBA, and at the time, the youngest to ever be elected.  Tim was on duty at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, and worked over 300 hours, on search and rescue operations. Tim has been awarded numerous police accommodations, and he was featured on America’s Most Wanted in 1992 to help track down the murderer of a NYC police officer.

The East Greenbush Education Foundation is proud to recognize Tim Nickels as he enters our hall of fame.
