Mike Condo, a 1981 graduate of CHS, attended the Albany Memorial Hospital School of Radiology and graduated with honors, receiving  the  coveted  Mallinkrodt award  for  clinical excellence and subsequently worked at Memorial Hospital as an X-Ray technician.     

 In 1985 he joined the East Greenbush Police Department, where he has been a Sergeant since 2004. Prior  to that he  served   as a  Detective  where he and his partners  were recognized by  FBI  Director Louis Freeh for  their  work in solving and  making  an arrest for an East - Coast bank robbery spree. 

Sergeant Condo is highly trained in many areas of Police work, including as an Accident Investigator, Chemical Agents Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Game of Chance Inspector as well as one of the original members of the SWAT team.  And, he manages the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Grant Program and Rensselaer County STOP DWI Program.  He  is also one of the more  senior  instructors  at the  Zone  V  Law  Enforcement  Academy. 

Sergeant Condo can often been seen at Columbia High School, in uniform and as a volunteer.  He presents talks to social studies and criminology classes, fills in as the School Resource Officer and assists the athletic department in game safety and supervision—even announcing or keeping score at many Girls Volleyball games, when his daughters were playing. 

Outside of CHS, Mike is active in the community, having volunteered with many civic organizations including East Greenbush Girls Softball League (where he was coach, board member and field maintenance coordinator), Bruen Rescue Squad, and the Clinton Heights, Best Luther and East Greenbush Fire Departments.  His hard work and dedication has influenced many members of his family, who also believe in the importance of serving their community. 

East Greenbush Education Foundation celebrates Mike Condo for his dedication and generosity.  From volunteering his time and tools to maintain the East Greenbush Softball fields, to setting up lunch funds for students in needs, Mike gives his time, his tools and his heart to our community.
