Mr. William Bianco excelled as a student athlete at Columbia High School and Brown University.

At Columbia, his many accomplishments included receiving the Minton Spalding Award (senior graduating with the most varsity letters) and victories in the two‐mile at each of the 1983 Section II and Suburban Council Indoor Track Championships. Bill earned a B.A. in applied math and economics from Brown University with accompanying magna cum laude honors in 1987. While at Brown, Bill received numerous awards, including selection to the Sigma Xi Scientific and Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Societies. He was the recipient of the Technical Analysis Corporation Award presented to the graduating member of Sigma Xi who best demonstrated all‐around excellence and initiative outside of science and engineering. Bill was a four‐year

member of the Brown Varsity Cross Country team, serving as an Academic Peer Counselor for two seasons and was recognized as an Outstanding First Year Athlete. Bill scored in the 99.5 percentile on the LSAT and was accepted at numerous prestigious law schools including Stanford, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania and Duke. He attended Harvard Law School and earned his J.D. with honors distinction in 1990.

 

Upon graduation from Harvard, Bill accepted an offer to join the internationally renowned 750

member law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld in Washington, D.C. He was elected Partner in his first year of eligibility. His partners included Robert Strauss, former Ambassador to the Soviet Union/Russia and former Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Thomas Foley, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and Vernon Jordon, former Advisor to President Clinton and President of the National Urban League. While at Akin Gump, Bill was also a member of the firm’s Pro‐Bono Committee. His work as the lead partner on the Sandler Capital Management account resulted in an invitation to join the New

York City based investment firm. He has been a Managing Director at Sandler since 2000. Sandler operates domestic and international private equity partnerships and hedge funds, with currently over $1.25 billion in assets under management. Additionally, Bill is a member of the Board of Directors of Farelogix Inc., a leading provider of distribution and merchandising technology to the airline industry, Modulant Solutions Inc., an enterprise information management provider, and Wizmo Inc. a software hosting company. In 2014, he established the Bianco Family Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a Columbia High

 

School cross country and/or track athlete that best demonstrates all‐around excellence.
