Congratulations
to the friends and family of Robert M. Riano (Class of 1975) on
his upcoming induction into the Hall of Fame.
Mr. Riano was nominated by
his mother, Irja Riano, for this honor. He graduated from Columbia
High School in 1975, and then from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Mechanical
Engineering and an MBA. After marrying his college
sweetheart, he moved to Maryland, where he achieved a
distinguished career, receiving many awards in service to his
country as a member of the CIA.
Mr. Riano was killed in
action in 2006 while part of a CIA mission in Iraq. He is
reported to have died of natural causes, although no details
regarding his death have been released by the CIA.
Mr. Riano will be inducted
into the Columbia High School Hall of Fame at the annual Gala.
A military remembrance is planned.
